Animal Supply and Lone Star Pet Join Forces
SEATTLE, WA — November 7, 2012 — Animal Supply Company announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Schertz, Texas-based Lone Star Pet Supply. Dennis Stahl, Chairman and CEO of Lone Star Pet, and Danny Selman, President of Lone Star Pet, will become equity investors in Animal Supply. Mr. Stahl will join Animal Supply’s board of directors and Mr. Selman will continue as Animal Supply’s Regional President – Southwest. The two companies will operate as Lone Star Pet and Animal Supply in their respective markets. Transaction terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition enables Animal Supply and Lone Star Pet to offer its customers and manufacturers an unmatched level of service, breadth of products and geographic reach. The combined business will now cover 20 states, represent over 300 pet product manufacturers and deliver to more than 4,000 pet retail stores.
Lone Star Pet is the leading wholesale distributor of pet products in the south central United States, serving Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas. The company carries one of the broadest product selections in the industry, enabling it to serve nearly all of its customers’ product needs. Lone Star Pet was founded in 1952 and acquired by Dennis and Anna Stahl in 1986.
