Mr. Van Duinen is responsible for the origination, evaluation, execution and monitoring of investments. He has more than 12 years experience in private equity investing, leveraged finance and M&A. Prior to joining Halifax in 2004, Mr. Van Duinen was with Merrill Lynch Capital, Merrill Lynch & Co.'s middle-market leveraged lending arm. During this tenure, he focused on underwriting, structuring, documenting and monitoring senior loans and subordinated debt used in conjunction with leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, and recapitalizations. Prior to that, he spent four years with Hunt Private Equity Group identifying, reviewing and executing management buyouts and later-stage equity investments. Mr. Van Duinen started his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young. He earned a B.B.A. degree in accounting from Southern Methodist University and an M.B.A. with concentrations in Finance & Strategy from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Mr. Van Duinen is a former Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Texas Society of CPA's. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of PolyPipe Holdings, Inc., Nutrition Physiology Company, LLC, and Animal Supply Co., LLC. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Taylor Logistics, LLC. He is also a member of the steering committee for the DFW Private Equity Forum.
