Mr. Van Duinen is responsible for assisting in the evaluation, execution and monitoring of investments. Prior to joining Halifax in 2004, Mr. Van Duinen was with Merrill Lynch Capital, Merrill Lynch & Co.'s middle-market leveraged lending arm. During this tenure, he focused on underwriting, structuring, documenting and monitoring senior loans and subordinated debt used in conjunction with leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, and recapitalizations. Prior to that, he spent four years with Hunt Private Equity Group identifying, reviewing and executing management buyouts and later-stage equity investments. Mr. Van Duinen started his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young. He earned a B.B.A. degree in accounting from Southern Methodist University and an M.B.A. with concentrations in Finance & Strategy from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Mr. Van Duinen is a former Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Texas Society of CPA's. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of PolyPipe Holdings, Inc. and Taylor Logistics, LLC. He is also a member of the steering committee for the DFW Private Equity Forum.
