Senior Partner


David-DupreeDavid Dupree is a founder and a Senior Partner of The Halifax Group.

Prior to founding Halifax in 1999, David was a Managing Director and Partner with The Carlyle Group, where he was primarily responsible for investments in health, wellness and related sectors. Prior to that, he was a Principal in Corporate Finance with Montgomery Securities and Alex Brown & Sons.

David earned a B.S. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received his M.B.A. from the Wake Forest University Schools of Business.

David is also Director Emeritus of Whole Foods Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ: WFMI and a Fortune 500 company) where he served as a director from 1997 until 2008. As a Whole Foods director, he served on the Audit Committee and was chairman of the Nominating and Governance Committee.

David serves as a managing member and member of the management committee of Salem Halifax Capital Partners, a Small Business Administration mezzanine lending company sponsored by Halifax. He is currently a third term trustee of Wake Forest University and a member of the Executive Committee. David also served as Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee for the Wake Forest Endowment. He is currently Chairman of Verger Capital Management which now manages the Wake Forest Endowment as an outsourced CIO. David also served as a trustee for the Potomac School in McLean, VA and is Chairman of the Potomac School’s Investment Committee and is also a member of the Finance Committee and the Executive Committee.
